Visa requirement and travel documents accepted by Finland

The Schengen member states have jointly agreed about the rules concerning the movement of third-country nationals in their territories and decided which countries' citizens are required to present a visa. Furthermore, each Schengen State has decided which travel documents citizens of different third countries have to present upon entering the country.

  • Ordinary passport (*) see below
  • A VIP (special) passport is accepted as an ordinary passport

(*) Finland accepts only passports which include the right of return to the West Bank. Persons whose passport ID number starts with 4, 8 or 9 are entitled to return to the West Bank. The ID number also proves that the passport holder is officially an Israeli citizen. Furthermore, passports granted in Gaza after June 2007 are not acceptable travel documents to Finland (granted by Hamas).
